Pottery Workshop: Make & decorate your own Bollington Bear
We have run out of stock for this item.
Description
Come along and join me in my studio to hand build your very own Bollington Bear. You will be provided with earthenware clay, tools, my hands on help and inspiration with many cutters and moulds so that you can design your own unique bear.
The workshop is 3 hours long spread over two sessions.
In the first session, you'll build the structure of your bear using pinch pot technique, add a base and the bear features and you can add any additional feature items (such as a heart, crown, party hat , flowers, your choice)
You'll leave your bear to dry and return the following weekend to Fettle and clean up, add colour and texture and finish off your bears.
You'll then leave them with me to dry, fire, glaze and final fire before they're ready to collect.
This is a wonderful way to create something unique, whilst learning some basic fundamentals of handbuilding. The two sessions will give you confidence in playing with clay, building, forming, attaching, colouring and adding texture.

What will I Learn?
You will learn to manipulate the clay pinch pot style; slab a suitable-sized base and learn how to attach it to the bear with slip. You'll cut clay with cutters or use sprig moulds to attach pieces to decorate the bear along with his features. Come with an idea if you can of what you'd like to create with your bear - but don't worry I have plenty of ideas to share.
